Guo Sun was born in 1975 in Shandong Province. In 1998, he graduated from the Oil Painting Department of the Shandong Academy of Fine Arts with Prof. Yan Ping and Prof. Gu Liming. In 2000, Guo resided and studied in Frankfurt, Germany. In 2008, he graduated from the Department of Liberal Arts of the National Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg, Germany, where he received his master's degree under Prof. Nobert Schwontkowski. He now teaches at Shandong University.
