Li Shun(1988-)

Li Shun, born in 1988 in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the School of Intermedia Art of the China Academy of Art, a member of the China Photographers Association, and deputy director of the Youth Photography Working Committee of the Zhejiang Photographers Association, now lives and works in Hangzhou. Li Shun is a member of the China Photographic Association.

Li Shun's creative inspiration comes from photography, in which light is the absolute protagonist, and the transformation between positive and negative images becomes the logical root of his works. His creations show diversity, especially focusing on the expressive power of various media. His works are dense with connotations. For him, the purpose of photographic art is always how to focus on the image as some kind of experience or feeling, for which one should go for the generation of ideas and the metaphor of comprehension, His work moves from receptive visual impression to positive visual expression, further digging out abstraction and uncertainty, thus integrating Chinese traditional aesthetics into it, and opening up the possibilities for the development of the contemporaryization of Chinese traditional art.

Li Shun's significant solo exhibitions include: Li Shun: Re-de-coding (Ginkgo Space, Shenzhen, 2024); Nostalgia From Nowhereland (Hao Art Museum, Shanghai, 2024); Steam of ideas in mountains and seas (Ginkgo Space, Shanghai, 2023); Captured Light and Shadow (Zhejiang Art Museum, Hangzhou, 2023); Chinglish (Make Room, Los Angeles, 2019); Art Basel (Hong Kong) Li Shun - Solo Project (Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, Hong Kong, 2018).
